Youth Club Dance Classes

Dance Woking are proud to be collaborating with local community centres to provide dance sessions for their young residents. These sessions are delivered as part of our Inspired Learning programme

Our youth dance sessions all have bespoke outcomes – with some focused on bringing the local community together, others performing at our platforms or performing at local community events, but they are a great way to engage children in physical activity, in a fun environment, learn new skills, rhythm and team building, and engage those that aren’t engaged in team sports alongside our excellent outreach team.

Dance Woking are currently collaborating with the following centres.

  • Mondays – Kingsmoor Park, Moorcroft Community Centre
  • Tuesdays – Stanwell Community Centre

For more information on these sessions please contact us or the Community Centres directly.

More collaborations will be announced soon.

Are you part of a local community centre and would like Dance Woking to facilitate some dance sessions – contact us to find out more.

Surrey Youth Games

Dance Woking will once again be hosting dance sessions for the Surrey Youth Games held on Saturday 17th June 2023 at Surrey Sports Park.

Dance Woking are thrilled to be working with Active Surrey to facilitate inclusive dance sessions as part of Active Surrey and Specsavers Surrey Youth Games Programme.

This April to June, children and young people aged seven to 16 across Woking will enjoy free sports coaching as part of the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games 2023. This year’s games are aimed entirely at beginners and those who usually cannot access sports training.

The free classes will culminate in a performance at Surrey Sports Park on Saturday 17th June and we can’t wait to build on last year’s success.

Woking sessions are held at Eastwood Leisure Centre on a Thursday – 5.30pm – 6.30pm

The Specsavers Surrey Youth Games is the largest multi-sport youth event of its kind in the South East of England, offering FREE local training for those taking part. This unique programme brings together 6-16 year olds from Surrey who often don’t have access to the sort of sporting opportunities that others take for granted. Dance Woking’s Rotate

Dance Woking is an innovative dance organisation that provides high quality opportunities to watch, perform and take part in dance, providing new experiences that inspire artists, audiences, participants, and communities.

October 2015 saw Dance Woking partner with Woking Borough Council, Sportivate, Woking Gymnastics Club and The Urban Playground Team to deliver ‘Rotate’ a new performance parkour workshop every Friday evening at Woking Gymnastics Club from 8pm – 9.30pm. The session was very very well attended by young people aged 11plus and with further funding from Thames Valley Housing Association, Dance Woking was able to continue to deliver workshops in the Spring & Summer of 2016.

In May Half Term 2016, Thursday 2 & Friday 3 June, at HG Wells Conference & Events Centre in central Woking and this time with additional support from Arts Council England’s Grants for The Arts Scheme, participants from Rotate worked with performance parkour specialists Alister and Miranda from The Urban Playground Team in a two day intensive on a ‘metal structure’. This structure was the ‘carriage’ of a train and following the two-day intensive enabled the group to perform in STEAM at Party in the Park on Saturday 9 July 2016 in front of record crowds. A fantastic opportunity and experience for the Rotate group.

Woking & Addlestone Youth Centres

Dance Woking hosted weekly parkour sessions in Woking and Addlestone.

Unfortunately, with the rapid progress and impact of COVID-19 we are unable to proceed with our planned Summer activity and regular weekly clubs.

As we adapt and adjust to the new reality the welfare of our artistes, team, audiences, community remains paramount. Over the coming weeks we will be getting in touch and updating our website and ways of working and look forward to working with on a new way of working and what we can offer.
