SUPPORTED ARTISTS

Supported Artists benefit from:

  • A listing on Dance Surrey Pro
  • An opportunity to work within our Outreach & Education team
  • Two CPD sessions/year where we pay for their time to take part
Associated Artists

Who are they?
They may be dancers, dance groups or companies, choreographers or other dance-related artists and practitioners. This year 21/22 we are supporting six individuals on our Associate Artist Scheme and a Dance Company Tavaziva Dance.

Associated Artists in addition to the above benefit from (Funding dependent) an offer of a small bursary of up to £500.00 each which can be spent in a flexible way to help improve or develop them as an Artist. In 21/22 we offered six places.

In any one year, the support we provide to an artist or company may include:

  • a significant presence or residency at Dance Woking (a week or more)
  • mentoring and / or management input
  • input from a Dance Woking technician
  • enabling the production / sharing / performance (premiere) of new work.

What is the programme about?
The programme is flexible and strategic, seeking to place investment where long-term impact will be greatest — whether on the art form, audiences or the artist’s opportunities. We will provide resources on a case-by-case basis.

Why have it?

We consider the input of dance and dance-related practitioners to be vital in keeping our organisation fresh and dynamic. Supported and Associate Artists are essential to this creative exchange.
