ABOUT: Ceyda Tanc Dance is a contemporary dance company led by Artistic Director and Choreographer, Ceyda Tanc. The company produces cutting-edge, dynamic contemporary dance works influenced by traditional Turkish folk dance, including Zeybek and Denizli. Utilising the virtuoso movements of the male Turkish dancers on female bodies, a unique movement vocabulary is created, which conveys striking shapes, and an emotive and sensual energy. Ceyda Tanc Dance is committed to sharing their passion for dance and performance, specialising in contemporary and traditional Turkish folk dance. They aim to spark enthusiasm for these art forms in people of all ages and abilities.
KUSAK is an exciting intergenerational performance challenging audience perception of dance and age; this new work explores ritualistic ceremonies from Turkish Folk culture.
Dance Woking is working with Ceyda Tanc Dance to create a Woking version of KUSAK by inviting different members of the community to come together to create an exciting piece of work.
